Little Adam's Peak
Gentle mountain trek rewarding with 360° views of Ella Gap
Named after the sacred Adam's Peak due to its similar shape, Little Adam's Peak is a rewarding hike suitable for all fitness levels. The paved steps wind past emerald tea fields leading to three panoramic summit peaks overlooking the spectacular Ella Gap.
Head out around 5:30 AM to catch the morning cloud-inversion where the valley fills with golden mist. We can pack a warm thermos of tea for your summit hike!
Ella Rock
Dramatic cliffside trek through eucalyptus forests & rail tracks
For avid hikers, Ella Rock offers the ultimate viewpoint standing directly opposite Little Adam's Peak. The trek begins along historic train tracks, crosses rubber tree plantations, and climbs through aromatic eucalyptus woods to a sheer cliff ledge.
The trail markers near the waterfall can be tricky. We provide a hand-drawn map at our reception desk so you won't need an expensive local guide.
Ravana Falls & Cave
Cascading 82ft waterfall steeped in ancient Ramayana folklore
One of the widest waterfalls in Sri Lanka, Ravana Falls surges down oval-shaped concave rock outcrops. Located right along the main road descending from Ella town, it is linked to the ancient Ramayana legend where King Ravana hid Princess Sita in the nearby caves.
Visit the waterfall first, then take the steps up to Ravana Cave for a dose of ancient history and a panoramic lookout over the valley gorge.
